You must be aware however that even low rate credit cards will often charge a balance transfer fee. You must take this into account when choosing the right credit card to take out.

If you require a low rate credit card to give you low rates on retail purchases (i.e. shopping, buying things over the internet etc) then a low rate credit card that has an introductory rate on credit card purchases may well be the card for you. Credit Card purchase introductory rates can be as low as 0% and can commonly last from between 3 months and 12 months.

Low rate credit card cheques

Credit card cheques can be very useful and can be used just like a cheque from many banks. Some low rate credit cards can have promotional or introductory rates on credit card cheques. Be careful though, as not all credit cards have low rate credit card cheques and some may count credit card cheques as if you were using them as cash (which can attract a much higher rate).
